A New Year, A New Beginning!

A new year can bring joy and anticipation. The hope of a fresh start, new goals, and a renewed sense of perspective. However, a new year can also bring a host of worries and apprehension. What are my resolutions? How many should I have? Are my goals too lofty for me to reach? Where can I better myself? Where do I start? When I run into difficulty who will come to my aid?

This is where we must simplify. Strip away the excess and focus on the realistic. Anything too far fetched may leave you feeling defeated, and even frustrated.

When I saw the article below, it immediately spoke to me. It left me with a sense of balance, without feeling overstretched like butter scraped across too much bread. However, at the same time it challenged me to go that extra step. The step that we all should take each year, to make ourselves, those we love, and our world better.

Article written by Doreen Virtue:

2017 gives us an opportunity to put everything into practice that we have learned so far. Here are some of the lessons that will be put to the test for you and I:

  1. The power of positive thinking. Faith and optimism are essential tools, especially in the face of fear. In 2017, we will have the opportunity to notice and compare the immediate results of fearful thinking and positive thinking. Even in situations that are dysfunctional and need healing, a positive approach will take us farther.
  2. Trust your inner truth detector. In 2017, we will continue to have whistle-blowers revealing scandals, and fake and manipulative news stories. Career politicians will clash with new politicians. This is an opportunity for you to go inside of yourself, and feel what is true and what is false. This is an important life skill that helps us with our personal relationships, career, and life purpose. This also means being authentic, and lovingly honest with yourself and others.
  3. Remember your true purpose. The reason why you are here at this time is because you looked upon earth from heaven, and saw how much everyone needed help. You volunteered to come here in a human body, to be helpful as a healer, teacher, and positive role model. When people are afraid or upset, you will have the opportunity to put all of your spiritual teachings into practice. You will model what it’s like to be peaceful, and utilize all of your healing and leadership training.
  4. Lean upon the true Source. There won’t be any time for dabbling with the ego’s insecurities in 2017. You will put your entire trust in God’s healing wisdom and love. Self-confidence will come from God-confidence.   It will be second nature for you to open yourself up to being a clear channel for God to heal and speak through you.
  5. The pursuit of true and lasting pleasure. In 2017, consumerism and other addictions will be replaced with volunteerism, and a focus upon compassion and helpfulness. Instead of pursuing short term pleasures by trying to acquire externals, we will collectively realize that the only true and lasting pleasure is through being a portal for divine love. We will of course take care of ourselves, not because of selfishness, trying to impress others, or hedonism, but because self-care helps us to help others.  Impulsivity and anxiety will be reduced as we collectively detox from chemicals, and focus upon what really matters.
  6. Peaceful activism. Getting involved with the issues that you care about will be a part of 2017. The opportunity will be to diligently follow your divine guidance to make a positive difference, and not get hooked into drama. Fear-based activism could lead to riots, civil disobedience, and martial law. We want to continue with peaceful sit-ins, conscious consumerism, boycotts, spreading educational social media posts, calling representatives, and creating and signing petitions.
  7. Spiritual Focus. In 2017, the political climate will bond humanity closer together.  Instead of being divided, there will be a return to basic values such as thoughtfulness and realizing that we all share common needs.  People will return to church and temple, with an emphasis on praying for a lovingly close connection, personal relationship with, and communication with God. People who have been turned off by religion will find a common ground, and heal their anger and fears which previously pushed them away from their Source.”   ~Doreen Virtue~

Be kind. Be strong. Be better than you were the year before.

6 Steps To Survive The Holidays

BALANCE IS EVERYTHING

Diet is key – For many of us, the drinks, proteins and sugars will be lurking around every corner, and at every function. It is up to us to balance them. Enjoy, but DO try to moderate. Alcohol will peak your blood sugar which will not only lead to the dreadful hangover, but also throws your cravings and/or stress/anxiety levels out of whack. For the days between the gatherings, try smoothies, oatmeal, nuts fruits and veggies to balance blood sugar and re-balance your diet.

Know your boundaries – This is a broad statement but an integral part of maintain balance throughout the holidays. And remember IT IS okay to say “No thank you.” Don’t burnout by dragging yourself to an event you know will require all of your energy.

Keep expectations in check – Do not expect too much from your holiday season, this will only lead to disappointment. Live in the moment, breathe, and take the holiday season as it comes.

Don’t sweat the things beyond your control – Be kind to yourself this season, and avoid worrying about the things you can’t control.

Give yourself a break! – I hope this is self-explanatory because it is vital. Find time to have a bath on your own. Pick up that book you have been dying to read. For some, this is not an easy time of year, so make certain you take a break from it all. You will be doing yourself a favour.

Do not get caught up in other people’s problems – Sure it’s a part of being a good human being, listening to others speak on their troubles, but make sure to know when you ‘tolerance’ meter is rising. And if it does, have a polite exit strategy in your pocket. It is as simple as going to the restroom to take a few deep breaths.

Really do try to enjoy yourself – The holiday don’t have to be dreadful if you do not want them to be.  If they are a dreadful time of year, allow some time for self-reflection.  What, Why, and How can you release these old limiting ideals.

Happy Holiday!

Raising Your Vibration

I get this question every week.  “How do I raise my vibration?”

There are many different ways to raise ones vibration, (exercise, meditation etc). But what we put into our bodies on a daily basis is much more important than most realize. Everyone has experienced a day in their lives where they feel physically or emotionally sluggish. And in many cases, quality of food (or lack thereof), is the culprit. So the composition of our meals over the course of a day, plays an important part in one’s balance. And the same is true when it comes to vibration. We are only as powerful as what we eat. Just like a vehicle, the type of gas and oil we put in is a factor in performance.

Lower quality meals = low vibration, it’s as simple as that! We ARE ‘beings’ composed of energy, everything we introduce into our energetic field changes and pulls our frequency, starting with our fuel! Food, an essential part of our day that we often neglect.

Have you ever really put a thought into what YOU are eating?  Thankfully these days, mindfulness on nutrition and wellness is on almost everybody’s mind. However, it can be sometimes overwhelming knowing what to eat and where to source our food.

It is no surprise that organic, pesticide free and non-GMO foods are the most ideal food types, and therefore, have the highest vibration.  When we consume higher vibrational foods, our energetic mass feels loved and nourished.  In turn, this makes room for growth and energetic expansion, helping you get through each day with purpose and determination.

All that said, life is fast, and we are surrounded by the pressures of our quick fix, instant oatmeal society. Add work, and children, all while trying to find time for yourself, and the picture suddenly becomes muddled.

But there are solutions! Time management is your best friend!

By planning the week/month ahead, one can organize what’s in the fridge/freezer, and avoid having to settle for fast food, and boxed/processed meals that suppress your field and make you feel slow, unsatisfied, and sometimes even depressed.

Yes, that BIG MAC may be delicious but is it really nourishing your body, mind and spirit?  You get the idea.

BUT. Even the best of time managers out there, can’t predict the unpredictable. We all find ourselves at times in places where we just can’t get that perfectly balanced meal. The answer is simple, and it is not new. ‘Moderation’ is the side kick to time management.

I hope this little nugget helps bring awareness on your path to finding nutritional balance and harmony. ALWAYS ask questions about what you’re putting in your body, support local, and most of all support your body.

The Power Of Positivity and How to Create It In Your Life

1) Be Thankful, Count your blessings in the moment: Life happens when you are busy making other plans.Take a moment each day to bring gratitude and awareness to your life and the important people you share it with.

2) Silence is sanctuary. Sometimes putting ego aside and letting things ‘just be’ can be the best medicine for the soul.  Arguments, disagreements, can spiral out of control if we dig emotional trenches and linger there.

3) Love is more powerful in action than in words: BE LOVE, exude your loving selves every day in every way. Love conquers all, if you express love in your energetic field according to universal law, you WILL attract abundance.

4) Learn from your mistakes but make sure to let them go: If you see every scenario with love there is no need to hold on to anything.  Learn and bring awareness to each lesson for you in each moment.  Once the awareness of the lesson has been awakened, let it go.  Your subconscious mind will take care of it, patterns will shift and you will create change.

5) Never ever let go of your passion: Passion should be your fuel in life.  Sometimes finding it takes time, however, many times it’s been there, right in front of your nose all along. Big or small, your passion will make you feel alive. It will cleanse the energetic field and jump start your creative juices that have been laying dormant. Passion=happiness.

6) Ones own personal place of Peace is sacred, and don’t let anyone interfere with yours: In a world of drama, news and reality TV, it is so easy to get swept in to the senselessness of the world.  This chaotic vibration can suppress your energetic field.  Find your own calm, and set a line in the sand that only you may cross. And there, you will be able to bring yourself back into a place of peace, far away from the world.

7) Patience can be rewarding: this is very important! When people try too hard, they create an energetic blockage that hampers your progress.  Setting intention, being patient and allowing the universe to guide you in whichever way you NEED to be guided will ensure that you get to your purpose efficiently. The universe has a divine plan of action that may not be what you have originally envisioned.

8) Don’t let fear be the obstacle:  this is vital! Give your whole self to the divine flow of the universe. And trust It. By giving into fear and letting it rule you, love cannot have a place to shine.  Living in fear is like living in a box, your growth will be restricted.

Listening to Your Intuition

Déjà What?
The importance of listening to your intuition

Déjà vu is a moment in time where you feel a familiarity with an occurrence, that ‘gut’ feeling that you have seen ‘this’ before. Well, we have all experienced this once or twice in our lifetimes, and sometimes multiple times. But, have you ever taken the time to think-Can it be more than a coincidence?

In this age, we go along with our day and disregard feelings, often at an alarming pace, abandoning the ‘moment’ without a second thought.

What If we trained ourselves to reflect, and to hold that single ‘moment’ in time, to honour our intuitive wisdom? Because that’s essentially what déjà vu is, right?

Well, that depends on what one believes.

I believe this ‘hmmm’ moment is a higher wisdom coming through in a split second of familiarity.

Intuition is like a muscle, the more you honour and trust its guidance, the stronger the senses and feelings become. We all have this amazing gift-4 senses –the four Clair’s in which our intuitive wisdom comes through. Clairvoyance-clear seeing, Clairaudience-clear hearing, Clairsentience-clear feeling, Claircognizance-clear knowing. Every being on this planet has inherited these wonderful gifts. Each of us will also feel more connected to one or two of these gifts, they will be stronger and more pronounced.

Not listening to our senses is like boating in an ocean without a GPS.

Yet somehow, in our western world, we have decided that our logical minds take precedence over inner and spiritual guidance. And in following this cultural shift, we have lost touch with ourselves, and the essence of who we are. And to mask the negative effects, we hide behind a titles, material possessions and social status.

Imagine with the snap of a finger, the world suddenly became aware that we are all the same, we are nature, and it is us.

Funny enough, most people have these conversations inwardly, never allowing anyone to see their true self.

Because of fear.

Fear is the cancer that impedes the true Human Experience. It eats away at our wants, and inhibitions. Carving us down to morsels of the selves we always wished to be and explore.

Today, I want you to honour yourself, and the innate intelligence in which our body’s present to us everyday. Our bodies hold knowledge and understanding beyond our logical minds comprehension. And it is our duty to trust in these feelings, and give them the respect and time they deserve, so we can grow as intuitive beings.

Process of healing – Where to begin

The Energetic Tool Box

As my work progresses year to year, I have noticed two main questions which, in actuality, grow from the same root.  “How long will it take to heal?”  And. “Where does energy medicine fit in the western world?”

Modern medicine has guided us to believe that ‘healing’ takes place in a day or two, a week etc.  Yes, in many cases, symptoms do not take much time to heal. However, does it get to the heart of the issue?   The core of healing takes time, thus, the essence of our past needs to be revisited in order to move forward and process our malaise. We have this amazing gift to heal. When we cut our skin, the tissues mend.  Is it hard to believe that healing from the inside-out takes time and mindfulness?

Let’s consider how much time it has taken you to come to this point in your life.  Years of distraction, your body and soul have been crying out for attention, yet, we are too busy working, paying bills, checking time.  Being present with our bodies is the first step to healing.  Noticing the unique language it speaks, and understanding the processes your body needs to move forward is imperative.  We are conditioned to move ON with our day, but what if we are able to move WITH our day?  Being present in our beings throughout the whole day without distraction, one may think; “How would I get anything done?”

Well, it can be done.

When it comes to healing past trauma, (regardless of how long ago), we must decipher the unique energetic language of the body in order to release, and let go.  The tissues of the body have the answers to all of your questions.  Why you are the way you are, why you react the way you do.  What if we can tap into these running programs and release the long held cycles that are no longer serving you?

So. What does this all mean? And, where do I go from here?

First, you must question everything, (when it comes to your health and well-being). Question your doctors and diagnoses. This is not to exact some kind of superiority over your doctor. Rather, it is meant to assist you in understanding what is going on in your body from a nuts and bolts perspective. The goal here is to build confidence in steering your own health by understanding all options, treatments etc., Furthermore, it aims to harmonize traditional, and modern practices. I’m sure everyone recalls the old adage; ‘Two heads are better than one.’ Well, in this case, the more moving parts working in your favor, the better.

It must also be mentioned that there is a place for western medicine, and this will always be the case. A blend of both alternative and western medicine provides a deep healing process with lasting results. And in my experience, I am increasingly meeting physicians who are beginning to embrace this. And those who do not, unfortunately, are simply not keeping up with the evolution of our understanding of the human body, and its essence.

We have been subjected to believe that people who have gone to school for several years have all the answers to your problems.  This unfortunately just isn’t the case. I am certain most, if not all the people reading this article have had an instance where their problem was not solved. It could be a pain not wholly relieved, or a treatment only half successful.

What ever happened to Energy Medicine, Native Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, Acupuncture, Botanical and Chinese Medicine? All proven healing modalities that have been around for much longer, and that are sometimes more effective.  These practices have roots which run deep, and steering yourself towards them can give you another instrument in the toolbox of health. Intuition is key here, listen to that gut feeling. Too often we allow distractions in, when we should be listening to ourselves.

And lastly, talk to a light worker.  Like in any profession, light workers vary in expertise, knowledge and effectiveness, and it is very important to find the one that ‘speaks’ to you. And trust me, your body will tell you when it’s right. But, like any other practice, ask questions, research websites, absorb the references, and most importantly, listen to your own voice, what doesn’t feel right probably isn’t.
